Deng & Slavak - Arkaim EP including Ethereal Mist, Frangellico, Monojoke, Thorin remixes [SMD025]

Suffused Music returns for their 25th overall release and with that comes the much anticipated debut of Deng & Slavak to the label. Denis Gusev & Slava Budyukin make up the Russian production duo who shot into the spotlight with their releases on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music over the course of 2013. Add to that appearances on Baroque and OLD SQL Recordings and the duo would have to be considered amongst the top up and coming artists in Russia at the moment. Deng & Slavak's debut single for Suffused Music is entitled 'Arkaim' and it gets 2014 off to a great start for them. Fans of the Russian duo know their fascination for big, pulsating grooves combined with ethnic sensibilities and 'Arkaim' looks to be one of their biggest to date. A meaty kick, rolling groove and squelchy synths lay down an irresistible old school groove while the haunting atmospheres continue to drift higher. The momentous rhythms soon get accented with a set of soulful ethnic wails which bring the track to near spiritual proportions as the main break begins to take shape. The impact of the punishing groove soon returns and the grinding chord changes which follow push the bassy harmonies into goosebump territory for an exhilarating conclusion. Certainly one of Deng & Slavak's best works to date and Ethereal Mist, Frangellico, Monojoke and Thorin have all added their own special magic on the remixes to round out an amazing release from Suffused Music. - Release Promo
