Dr. Avalance - Cuatro Contra Tres EP incl. Danny Lloyd, Dio S, Kieran J remixes [SMD030]

Dr. Avalance was shot into the electronic music spotlight in 2011 when he was announced as one of the finalists in Sasha's Burn Studios remix competition. Born in The Netherlands but now currently based in Spain Simon Gomez aka Dr. Avalance has built on his early success with releases on LuPS, Stripped and Stellar Fountain over the last year. For the 30th release on Suffused Music Dr. Avalance returns to the label for his sixth overall appearance and second single which follows his 'Computer System' which was released in December of 2013. 'Cuatro Contra Tres' is Simon's newest offering for Suffused Music and it's also his third production of 2014. As the track begins a very powerful set of bass stabs drops in and creates a menacing sounding foundation. The pulsating framework is soon met with a trippy, hypnotic line which expertly modulates through the production. The main break serves to build additional tension for the introduction of a wicked complement to the once spacious bass line. The rumbling wall of low end frequencies push forward and with it comes piercing electronic stabs that are sure to delight old school video game fans. This is a massive sounding production from Dr. Avalance and one that a dark dance floor is going to eat up. It would be hard to top the original but included on the package are remixes from: Danny Lloyd, Dio S and Kieran J which round out one of the best Suffused Music releases to date. - Release Promo

Hypnotic Progressions & Volkan Erman - Expressions EP incl. Exequiel Gomez and Dr. Avalance remixes [SMD029]

Hypnotic Progressions and Volkan Erman teamed up and made their musical statement in 'Expressions', which is the leadership of the 29th release of Suffused Music. Both guys having quite a long list of releases already in the scene on their own, this time we get a unique mixture of their sounds, both melodic and pumping, spiritual and dancefloor oriented. The remixes comes from Dr. Avalance - appears with two different versions - from Spain and Exequiel Gomez from Argentina.
The original mix combining a one minute drum intro with a massive baseline, which takes us on a journey. The whole track got an awesome peak time flow, with lots of atmosphere elements spiced with a bit of psy flavor.
Dr. Avalance main remix bring a bit of fresh air, with more synth sounds used, getting a slow building, epic shape with unique textures. Simon's groove mix focusing more on the percussion and drum layers with a tighter outfit.
Exequiel Gomez tried to make his own vision of dark toned elctronica based on straight, house grooves. He operates with hypnotizing effects and let us breathe in the long lasting breakdown. - Greyloop

Anton MAKe - Vera EP incl. DJ Borra, Loco-Volver, Wav-E remixes [SMD028]

The 28th release on Suffused Music comes from Anton MAKe who is returning to the label for his second overall appearance. The Russia producer contributed to the labels 'Initializing 2014' compilation in the form of 'Vera' which is now seeing it's official single release. Fans of Anton often marvel at his studio versatility as he's a producer that's equally adept at crafting gorgeous progressive house cuts or rock solid breakbeat constructions. 'Vera' definitely comes in as the former with its classic progressive lines and heartfelt musicality. Anton's energetic grooves give the track not only a great vibe but also a great dance floor presence early on. The rumbling foundation is accented with splashes of soulful harmonies which really come to the forefront during the main drop. The playful melodies shimmer with a warm glow and those poignant plucks soon reveal Anton's rocking groove which storms ahead for an epic finish. It's certainly one of the most emotional pieces of music that has ever graced the Suffused imprint and with remixes from DJ Borra, Loco-Volver and Wav-E you know it's one not to be missed.

Dj Ceratti & Juan Pablo Graziano - Shadow EP incl. Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini, Cj Peeton, Dr. Avalance remixes [SMD027]

Dj Ceratti & Juan Pablo Graziano, two friends sharing their ideas about music and running their project succesfully for a while. With their new studio material 'Shadow' they set the standards even higher. As about the remix duties Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini, Cj Peeton and Dr. Avalance adding new spectrums to the original in their reworks.
The original mix starts with an outer space sounding arp melody which going through the whole track, as the main character. Roberto & Juan Pablo worked a lot with the key transitions and this makes the whole production a very lively and gripping one. Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini solid, deep oriented version focusing on the perfect textures, in harmony with the calm groove. Cj Peeton wasn't afraid to take the challange and do something different, his version laying on fresh breaks, focusing on a piano solo playing a freakin' beautiful theme. Dr. Avalance made a massive, peak time reload, with a marching baseline, and some mindblowing noises from that little silver box called TS-303. - Greyloop

Deng & Slavak - Arkaim EP including Ethereal Mist, Frangellico, Monojoke, Thorin remixes [SMD025]

Suffused Music returns for their 25th overall release and with that comes the much anticipated debut of Deng & Slavak to the label. Denis Gusev & Slava Budyukin make up the Russian production duo who shot into the spotlight with their releases on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music over the course of 2013. Add to that appearances on Baroque and OLD SQL Recordings and the duo would have to be considered amongst the top up and coming artists in Russia at the moment. Deng & Slavak's debut single for Suffused Music is entitled 'Arkaim' and it gets 2014 off to a great start for them. Fans of the Russian duo know their fascination for big, pulsating grooves combined with ethnic sensibilities and 'Arkaim' looks to be one of their biggest to date. A meaty kick, rolling groove and squelchy synths lay down an irresistible old school groove while the haunting atmospheres continue to drift higher. The momentous rhythms soon get accented with a set of soulful ethnic wails which bring the track to near spiritual proportions as the main break begins to take shape. The impact of the punishing groove soon returns and the grinding chord changes which follow push the bassy harmonies into goosebump territory for an exhilarating conclusion. Certainly one of Deng & Slavak's best works to date and Ethereal Mist, Frangellico, Monojoke and Thorin have all added their own special magic on the remixes to round out an amazing release from Suffused Music. - Release Promo

Hypnotic Progressions & Pavlin Petrov - Twilight EP incl. AquAdro, CJ Art, LoQuai remixes [SMD024]

The 24th release on Suffused Music sees the much anticipated 'Twilight' from Hypnotic Progressions & Pavlin Petrov finally getting its release. Diego Grasso a.k.a. Hypnotic Progressions hails from Argentina and Pavlin Petrov hails from Bulgaria. Both countries are full of talent in the electronic music underground and Diego and Pavlin are two of the most highly regarded up and comers. This cross Atlantic collaboration has turned our remarkably well as 'Twilight' has a lot to offer diehard progressive house fans. Cool beats and an ominous atmospheric backdrop lay down some sultry vibes early on. As the drums slowly get added into the mix the atmosphere gently grows and with it comes a lovely array of trippy electronics which trail through the mix. Delicate sweeps lead into the short drop where vibrant low end textures and a cinematic soundscape provide the perfect amount of anticipation for the beats to return. The hazy, psychedelic soundscape continues to grow over the second half of the record where the subtle pads and elegant sweeps deliver a tasteful conclusion. A fabulous collaboration from Hypnotic Progressions & Pavlin Petrov which also includes a wide array of remixes from AquaAdro, CJ Art and LoQuai which all provide their own special magic as well. - Release Promo

Cut Knob - Fiesta Privada EP including East Cafe, Jelly For The Babies, Kaban remixes [SMD023]

The much loved production duo Cut Knob have a had the best year of their young production career. The Colombian based pair are making their third overall appearance on Suffused Music and have just come off a stellar remix of Dr. Avalance's 'Computer System'. Cut Knob also delivered one of the year’s coolest bootlegs as they masterfully reworked Weekend World’s ‘The Word’ which was a staple of the Release Promo Hype Charts back in August. Their debut single for Suffused Music is entitled 'Fiesta Privada' and it looks set to go down as one of most infectious tracks in their discography. The smooth, rolling rhythms build great momentum early on while the tightly constructed groove keeps the dance floor attention high. The subtle shifts in rising atmosphere along with spacey electronics, quick drops and dynamic builds push the record close to peak time territory. The short, tension filled breakdown is the ideal centre piece for the record and provides that extra notch of charged electricity for an exhilarating conclusion. An outstanding dance floor record from Cut Knob and with three top notch remixes from East Cafe, Jelly For The Babies and Kaban, Suffused Music looks to build on its great momentum as 2014 begins. - Release Promo
