The latest offering on Suffused Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of 'Sunset Bay' by Jose Tabarez. Originally released in January of 2016 as part of the 'Initializing, Vol. 8' collection it showcased the Hungarian artist at his creative best. Known for his diversity, Jose presented one of the most refined and poignant productions of his career. It was not only the compilations lead piece but one that still resonates in the underground today. Now as the summer season winds to a close Suffused Music invites Ewan Rill and Mario Puccio to the reinvent the track for 2017.
Over the course of his four year tenure with the label Ewan Rill has grown into one of Suffused Music's most revered artists. Now following a remix of Cid Inc (alongside label boss Suffused), the Russian producer returns with an outside the box interpretation of 'Sunset Bay'. Beginning with a tough kick and subterranean groove, Ewan develops a storyboard of astral designs and charming melodies, indistinct vocals add an air of intrigue before a timely break brings anticipation, foreshadowing a swirling, atmospheric finale.
The second and final interpretation of 'Sunset Bay' is provided by Mario Puccio who is returning to the label for his fourth appearance. The Argentinean artist last appeared on the Lithuanian imprint with his 'Utopia' EP from March of this year. Now presenting just his third remix of 2017 Mario takes 'Sunset Bay' into deep, progressive minded territory with great results. On a backbone of rippled bass comes neatly tailored percussion, wispy atmospherics and soft tonal designs. Gentle and calming, the energy shifts with sparkling electronics and soulful melodies, which not only capture your imagination but shift the energy into a wonderfully groovy finale. Excellent remix from Mario which rounds out another must have offering from Suffused Music.
