Suffused Grooves vol.3 [SMDVA013]

Suffused Music began its journey in March of 2013 with LoQuai's ‘Proteus' EP. It was an auspicious beginning for the Lithuanian imprint and foreshadowed many great things to come. Over the next 3 years Suffused Music methodically built a catalog of diverse electronic music. While the labels sound has always been rooted in progressive house, there were never any constraints, as they continuously explored different stylistic blueprints along the way. It's one of many things which have set the Lithuanian imprint apart from the pack. Now with close to 150 credits on the labels discography Suffused Music is on the cusp of its three year anniversary. It's an occasion many labels in the digital age don't ever reach yet Suffused seems to be more robust than ever. Now looking back over the labels discography we find the Lithuanian imprint showcasing 'Suffused Grooves Vol. 3'. Enclosed in this 20 track opus are some of the labels finest moments, many of which have found their way into the hearts of electronica music fans all across the world. Featured on the collection are (in order of appearance) Dynamic Illusion, Exoplanet, Magnetic Brothers, Tommi Oskari, Ewan Rill, Tash, Tuxedo, Koob, Matter, Rick Pier O'Neil, Futur-E, Agrande, Subconscious Tales, Arthur Minnahmetov, Simos Tagias, LoQuai, Desaturate, Matteo Monero, Silinder and GMJ. It's an impressive cast of artistic talent and one that's not only fitting of marking the label's three anniversary but also moving it forward into the future. Don't miss it.

Bruno Caro - Entre 2 Mundos Pt.2 incl. Kamilo Sanclemente, N'Pot, Untold Stories [SMD126]

The 126th release on Suffused Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of Bruno Caro's 'Entre 2 Mundos' EP. Originally released in June of 2015, the 3 track offering showcased the Argentinean's pendant for melodic progressive which eventually led to an appearance on Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Now we see Suffused Music revisiting 'Entre 2 Mundos' with new interpretations from Kamilo Sanclemente, N'Pot and Untold Stories

The first interpretation on the release finds Kamilo Sanclemente reworking 'Entre 2 Mundos'. The Colombian producer has been hotly tipped of late with releases on Baroque Records, Einmusika and Perspectives Digital. His dreamy yet club friendly approach to production has worked wonders on 'Entre 2 Mundos', transforming it into a beefy dance floor rendition. Rolling slabs of bass anchor the mammoth groove while tribalistic drums and smooth hypnotic motifs push the momentum forward. Airy pads lead the piece into a stripped down section before the beats drop out and a mesmerizing theme steals the air. Kamilo shows resistant with a tasteful build, ultimately leading to a rumbling drop and elegant conclusion. Brilliant work from one of the undergrounds most underrated talents.

The second interpretation finds N'Pot overhauling 'Ansias' into a groovy hypnotic number. Nicolas Delfino aka N'Pot hails from Argentina and was part of the Monster Of Density trio, who had a nice run from 2011-2013 with releases on Dopamine Music, Movement Recordings and Sound Avenue. Since focusing on solo material Nicolas has reshaped his sound and kept the alias quite exclusive with just 5 releases in two years, including appearances on 238W, Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain. For his 'Ansias' interpretation Nicolas has crafted what is likely his most mature work to date with a driving groove and mesmerizing motifs leading the way. Bubbly bass tones make for some incredible bounce while vocal stabs pierce the air and trail off into a tripped out break. Swirling textures add an air of mystery while panning gates and a rush of white noise lead to a tasteful drop, revealing the undulating groove once more. Big remix from N'Pot.

The third and final interpretation on the EP welcomes Untold Stories back to the label for his second appearance. The Argentinean producer made his debut on the Lithuanian imprint with his 'Prologue EP' in February of 2015. The five track sound story introduced the underground to an artist with a wealth of studio experience and there has been an air of intrigue around the project ever since. Now just over a year later Untold Stories returns and reworks 'Arpegio Un Cinco' in his own inimitable style. With a markedly slowly tempo and chunkier groove, the Argentine takes straight aim at the dancefloor. As vibrant electronics pierce the air, tonal themes and panning effects tantalize the senses. The main break proves to the highlight with its hypnotic drawl and tactful build, ultimately leading to a stripped down drop and effects heavy third act. Unique and wonderful work from Untold Stories and a top notch remix EP from Suffused Music. Don't miss it.

Vlada D'Shake - Spook On EP [SMD125]

The 125th release on Suffused Music welcomes Vlada D'Shake to the label for his debut EP. The Serbian producer closed out 2015 riding a wave of hype which has certainly paved the way for big things this year. The long time Cid Inc favourite is fresh off a remix for Praveen Achary's Juicebox Music and his distinctive sonic traits never cease to amaze. Suffused Music is now pleased to present Vlada's debut EP for the label entitled 'Spook On' which promises to be his finest work to date.

Vlada's production hallmarks have always set him apart from progressive underground. His twisted designs and crossover cadence is a delight both for your senses and your feet. With 'Spook On' we find the Serbian artist creating what might be one of this year's most creative vocal storyboards. Expertly edited and processed to perfection, the ever evolving audio collage carries the late night groove into the break with a mystical vibe. Orchestral motifs and dubby tones dominate the break before dispersing for the ultimate spoken word narrative. Deep and compelling, with an air filth, the vocals prove incredibly captivating and once the groove ignites it's dance floor magic. Unique and fascinating work from Vlada.

The companion piece 'Weird Creation' finds Vlada going deeper and dubbier with great results. Anchored by a gritty groove the Serbian flawlessly builds contoured tones and metallic stabs into the ultimate rhythmic experience. Esoteric vocals again play a role with everything from precise edits to sweeping shrieks, making for a truly unique sonic experience. Never one to rest on just a few amazing ideas, Vlada continues the evolving journey into the third act with a more relentless approach, highlighted by hypnotic lines and cutting edge effects, ripping through the atmospheric with ferocity. Two outstanding pieces of music from Vlada, both of which stand on their own unique traits and will surely gain him even more praise from the underground. It all makes for a release which is set to be a highlight in the Suffused Music catalog for years to come.
